NEW DELHI: RPG Group company Spencer's Retail today said it expects turnover from its specialty division to increase five folds in the next three years and touch Rs 500 crore.

Upbeat on the response Beverly Hills Polo Club (BHPC) has received, Spencer's Retail, which introduced the American lifestyle brand in India in August 2009, now plans to take the brand forward by opening more exclusive brand outlets (EBOs).

RPG Enterprises Ltd. is in "advanced" talks with private-equity companies for selling a stake in its retail venture, Spencer's Retail Ltd., at a time when a rebound in consumer demand is spurring retail operators to seek funds for expansion. RPG Enterprises Vice Chairman, Sanjiv Goenka said that a transaction would depend on "right valuations" and "right conditions," without specifying the amount of stake the group is planning to sell or the price it is looking for.

Spencer's Retail to open 70 Beverly Hills brand stores

Spencer's Retail, a subsidiary of RPG Enterprises, today said it will open 70 stores of the premium brand Beverly Hills Polo Club across India during the next fiscal.

The company said it has earmarked Rs 20 crore for the purpose and is negotiating with various mall developers to avail themselves of the best rental schemes.

"We are at present operating only four company owned stores in Delhi and we have a target to have our presence in 30-40 cities by 2011, through both franchisee and company owned stores," Spencer's Retail vice president (apparel) Anurag Rajpal told PTI on the sidelines of Franchise India summit here.

The company had introduced Beverly Hills Polo Club brand in August this year.
