Donear Industries, manufacturers of suiting, trouser and shirting fabrics from cotton, wool, viscose, polyester and blends, has plans to launch 200 speciality retail stores for wrinkle-free cotton wear for men by the end of this year.“These stores will come up in high-end street shops and large format retail stores (LFSs) in metros and tire-II cities. In the first phase, around 40 stores, having area of 600-1,500 sq ft, will be opened by August,” said Rajendra Agarwal, MD, Donear.
However, Agarwal declined to divulge the financial details. “It would be too early to talk on the fund requirement, details as we are yet to finalise the business model,” Agarwal added.
The stores -- to be called WFC stores -- will sell lifestyle brands such as Madura Garment’s Allen Solly, Peter England, Van Heusen, Byford, Louis Philippe, Raymond’s Color Plus, Nirmal Lifestyle and Black Berry, Agarwal said.
Meanwhile, this would be its second retail venture after it launched 148 D’Cot stylewear stores across the country three years ago. The company also plans to raise the number of D’Cot stores up to 200 this year.
